EIKON is a collaborative fanzine focused on presenting Honkai: Star Rail's character "Anaxa" in various fashions and styles. All artwork will be collated into a "Lookbook" and offered with matching merchandise.

FAQ

✷ What is a "zine" or "fanzine"?
A zine is an unofficial, fan-created "magazine" of creative work usually focused around a particular fandom or theme.✷ What is the content of this Zine?
The zine will be a "lookbook" focused solely on Anaxa(goras) from Honkai: Star Rail.
Book (page) artists will design and style Anaxa to a fashion of their choice with a focus on colour palette coordination. Lookbook art will focus on the character and possible outfit details/close ups presented in a fashion magazine format. Staging pieces may be present in art, but backgrounds are not needed. Artists may include sparse lines of flavour text if they wish.
Merch artists are expected to create 2 - 3 pieces of theme-relevant merch for the zine. Merchandise will be decided based on Interest Check results.✷ Will the Zine be physical or digital?
This will be a physical zine with merchandise and a PDF version available.✷ Where will you be shipping from?
USA.✷ Are other characters/ships allowed?
No. Other characters may influence design details of an outfit, but no overt inclusion of other characters nor romantic implications may be included.✷ Are AUs allowed?
Yes! Any version of Anaxa is allowed in this zine within rating reason as long as the character is recognisably Anaxa (and yes, AU designs can choose to remove the eyepatch if desired).✷ What size will this Zine be printed in?
The zine will be B5 size.✷ How old do you have to be to participate?
All applicants must be 16 years by the time of acceptance emails going out.✷ Will content that applicants create outside of the zine affect their acceptance?
So long as your conduct is respectful and you keep your content responsibly managed, we do not care what you enjoy or have created for. Please warn for any triggering content in your application if applicable.✷ Is traditional art allowed?
Yes! As long you can provide a high quality scan of your work and isolate your art (transparent background) for final submissions.✷ Can I apply for multiple roles?
Yes, but contributors will only be accepted for one role each.✷ How many contributors are you looking for?
The current contributor spread includes up to 1 cover artist, 22 book artists, and 4 merch artists. These numbers are subject to change based on Interest Check results.✷ Will you be accepting writers/other creatives?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the contents of this project, we are not including other creators besides illustrative artists at this time.✷ How will contributors be compensated?
All contributors are guaranteed a free book. Profits will go towards funding shipping and upgrading compensation to a full bundle. Any leftover profit will be evenly distributed between all zine members. In the event of being unable to fund everything, contributors will be able to purchase items at production cost.

Applications

The work that you display in your application should showcase the quality/style that you are planning to produce for the zine.
This is a SFW zine. We will not review NSFW samples. Blood and mild horror will not be present in the zine, but are okay to use in portfolios.*Work featuring Anaxa is highly recommended, but not necessary to apply.✷Book Artist
・Anatomy, fluidity, silhouette:
Does the character look correct? Are the body lines and posing interesting? Are the design shapes of the character unique?
・Colour, values, composition:
Are colour and value theory observed in the designs? Is the content of the piece understandable and visually clear?
・Character personality and storytelling:
Are characters positioned in a befitting manner? We hope that character personality can shine through their body language and facial expression.
・Backgrounds and setting composition are not required for this zine. Staging pieces may be present in art.✷Merch Artist
Similar to page artists, but with additional notes:
・Style will also be evaluated per individual merch type. For example, an artist who is good at making enamel pins must be able to communicate an idea using a limited palette of colors. Meanwhile, an artist who applies for prints must be able to utilise space effectively and will need a keener eye for composition.
・We will evaluate merch artists for all merch positions the applicant selects when applying.
